I didn't do entries on them but I went to a concert and two live comedy shows (one of them way back in March). The concert was Sallie Ford & The Sound outside, they were spectacular with an awesome energy that was really infectious. I made the mistake of going to the show by myself, however. Awkward guy standing by himself is never a good thing to be at a concert. Even so, it was fun.
More recently I went to see Howard Kremer's "Have a Summah" tour. It was a blast and I even got to meet Howard, which was a real thrill for me. It's hard to explain, but I really connect with his comedy style (which when I write it out kind of sounds creepy). Kyle Kinane did a set also and it killed; my only previous experience with Kyle was his bit he did on "Drunk History" but I've been watching clips on Youtube ever since the show and have really been liking him.

Housekeeping
Just a quick post with a few updates. I've decided that I'm going to suspend book reviews for a time. I've just finished a book that already has had volumes written about and I don't think I can contribute much in the way of scholarship or critique. I also haven't really had my heart in writing them for a while now. I'm going to continue tracking the books I read and am thinking of ways to post about them and still keep it interesting.
I've also had my eye surgery and will be posting on it later this week. Hopefully I'll be able to bang it out tomorrow. I've got some ideas of what I want to say about it but my keyboard has decided to crap out on me. Currently the right arrow key and the comma are not working. A few other keys are dicey as well.

Mission Statement
For the last few months I've been making a list of things that I want to do by the time I'm 30. Some of these things I've never done and some I haven't done in a long time. I decided to make the list 30 items long (for obvious reasons) and will attempt to complete all of them within one year starting next Sunday, December 9th. I will try to post at least once a week, although not necessarily every post will be in regards to an item on the list.
This is something of an adventure or stunt blog, but I'm doing it with specific goals beyond completing the list. I'm hoping that by setting clear goals and writing about my progress I will reignite my passion for writing. I'm also going to try to use these goals and the blog to help balance my mood; I'm happiest when I'm working towards a goal, which is probably true for most people.
The first official post will be a copy of the list next Sunday.
